The sound test standard will be different for this event. It is 102db at 2 meter @ full throttle. It is a quick blip of the throttle, less than the a panic rev over a jump. This is the standard that has been put on the Ontario Camp of the Deaf by the local township. If the standard is not enforced then the Camp cannot operate races. The board of directors for the camp have fought long and hard to keep the camp open to motorcycles so there is no leeway on the sound test. The sound test will be operated by an engineer that has been hired by the township.
The Camp's past experience with testing MX bikes is that the 450 four strokes have the most problem passing. I am told it is a 50% pass rate with the 450 MX bikes. There were only a couple of bikes last year that had any issue.
Anyone who has spent money to make your bike louder I would suggest you put your stock exhaust back on. If you are riding a MX bike, specifically a 450, I would suggest you buy an exhaust plug for it just in case. The course will have sand, rock, creek crossings, hills, mx track, grass track. This piece of property has it all. There will be some interesting obstacles for the Pro/Exp race that should be good spectator spots.
The course will be around 11km and will again have a JOKER LANE. Pros will run between 5 to 7 laps depending on weather, all other races will be by time. Exact distance and number of laps will be available the week of the race.
I would like everyone to know that there is no alcohol allowed on the Camp property. If camp staff see any alcohol the person will be asked to pour it out. If the person with the alcohol does not want to pour it out then they will have to leave the property.
I know this doesn't affect most of the racers on the day of but I want everyone to be aware of this if you plan to camp out. Camping is allowed on Friday and Sat nights of the race.
Thanks, Blair

Is there a charge for camping? Do we need to book ahead of time?

Is there any riding allowed on Friday or Saturday? I doubt in the woods, but perhaps the MX track?

The MX track is open for practice every Wednesday night. But that is all that is available for practice. No riding on the Friday. Remember this is a Saturday race.

There will be an announcement shortly regarding pre-registration. The LiveLaps system is only used for enduros. Cross country events use a different scoring system.

I am coming from Saskatchewan and was planning to do the race ,and just wondered if there happened to be a one day membership for the OffRoad Ontario Assn or is the only option a full 1 year ?
Thanks for the help.

Hi Punk,

Membership is $30 for the year if paid in advance. ($50 at the event) Unfortunately we don't have a single day rate as it would be impossible to administer. We just try to keep the membership affordable for circumstances like yours.

Cheers,
Jeremy
