Schedule is still being put together. Right now only 3 sprint enduros are firm. Free Flow, Parry Sound, and Kearney. There will probably be 1 or even two more but not a for sure thing at this moment.
Enduros- Beagle, Mini Pine, Cord, Great Pine, Terra Nova,
XC- RJ , Burnt River, Walton, Anthill, Near Calabogie, another WEC round TBA, maybe one more.
Should all be figured out by the bike show.

What’s the difference between a sprint enduro and an Enduro. Thanks.

I haven't made it to an OO Sprint Enduro yet but it may be similar to this?

You might get different answers from different people on this, because essentially ALL of our Enduros are "Sprint" Enduros in that the transit time no longer counts toward your score (only your hour)
You could carry 59 minutes at an OO Enduro and "win" over someone who zeroed it (stayed on time on all Transit sections) as long as the total of the added up "test" times was less. IE, you "sprint" on the tests and the rest doesn't really matter as long as you don't hour out.

Having said that, our "Normal Enduros" might be better refered to as "long loop" Enduros in that you usually only ride each section once for the day, and end up totalling between about 90 -130 km. Occasionally, you'd ride a section backwards at the end of the day, but it still feels brand new) At a "Sprint" Enduro there are usually 3 or 4 tests that you do multiple times. Mexican for instance was 3 tests X 3 loops. Kearney was the same. OCMC's take on it this year had 4 tests, do them as many times as you like, take your best two.

While a long loop usually has two gas stops with +10 or +15 minutes built in to them, your on the move most of the time and don't get much of a break (although you can dip into your hour and take one anywhere you want as long as it's not a test)

With a sprint, there's usually a central area to pit at, and rest and recover. I had about 10-15 minutes at both Kearney and the Mexican to relax, fix the bike, ect. after each loop. On the OCMC version, you could take a 5-10 minute after each test if you wanted to.

Hope that clears it up a bit....

Are the sprints still going to count towards the enduro championship or will there be a separate sprint enduro series?

I am pretty sure that the decision was to have three distinct series making up the Grand Championship.

That is correct. The plan is to have 3 distinct series. The sprint enduro series may only be 3-4 rounds this year depending on property and date availability.

To be eligible for the Grand Championship riders must compete it at least one event from each of the 3 series.

On a side note, we are excited to have a new venue for this year, Kennelly Mountain MX near Calabogie. Should be one of the first XC events of the year if the weather cooperates. Preliminary reports are the property is awesome!

Cheers,
Jeremy
