Blair is also very good at recovering drowned bikes.
Here is video of him getting Andre's going from the Free Flow race.

If you want another Blair designed event signup for the Cord… easy little one in September… totally geared to the Vet C class... running shoes and shorts are all you need.

I stand correct... this event is sponsored by TWO Life Insurance Companies.

RE locked in: Bring it, my number is 774x

Oh and i don't pass on the left i just go straight through. ;)

Fyi this is a snorkel required race so make sure you have one attached to your airbox for Parry Sound's famously deep water.

You've probably searched YouTube already but there are a few Parry Sound videos on our channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCI-SO- ... xmmdqbs8rg

These were from an XC but I suspect we will be on the same trails for the most part.

@abc2milton:
Wow. A GasGas becomes a WaterWater and back again. Cool.
Oh, I've heard plenty about the Corduroy Challenge. I may come to volunteer but I very much doubt I have the stamina for even 1 day of that. I'll let my boy grind himself down out there!
Snorkel? Good grief - that would mess with my NOS system. Maybe sand paddles for rear tires - I'll keep this in mind and thank you ;)

@JTQ:
Thank you. I have watched those a good many times while deciding if I had it in me. I am *so* happy to note that the weather forecast has gone from rain being a sure thing to just a chance of showers. Fingers crossed - I spend a lot of time picking myself up on wet and slippery roots etc. :(

Cheers!

Ouchers on the clutch abc2milton. That bites. Replace it with a Rekluse? just kidding. :)
I'm 715C and look forward to meeting you in person - face to face before I merely see your dust through my OTG goggles!

So, last chuckle before I 'do this' thing.

Prayer For My Slippery Rock Race

The bucket list glares from magnetic fridge door
Usually tucked well beneath honey-do
But now it lives free, staring at me
There's the date, the day after tomorrow.

On that fateful day, astride Yamaha blue
With a clock ticking closer to go-time
I'll bend the bad knee, face mud and loose scree
Clear mind of all but the wheel tracking true.

Pick your line, take your time says my hot-shot kid
Don't let too many seconds escape you
If you find trouble, deep in the rubble
Pin it and rip it like on the you tube vid.

Now my bike isn't hot, a YZ it's not
It weighs fifty pounds more than my pickup
But she's torquey as hell and speeds quite well
Rock hills and muddy bogs - battles well fought.

The rider however, behind the bars
That's me in my flashy jersey and boots
In my near-old years my bones I hold dear
And I think that the hole shot ain't in my stars.

But lordy oh lord, I know I'm bereft
If I've done anything right in this life
May I glide past stones and not crash alone
Any outcome at all though not DNF!

Test #3.
Rock Hill from Ouch
1st attempt. Stuck ¾ of the way up. Helped another who was jammed then time to try again.
2nd attempt. Different gear, more speed.
Flipped out just before the tape at turn.
Snapped brake lever off, mangled hand guard, cracked master cylinder. Biological systems okay though (thank you armour)!
:(
Parts on order. Pit crewed for my son rest of the race.
Cheers. Haven't looked yet but I hope you did well and enjoyed yourself.
Signed,
still snorting out dust... OlderBoulder

Too bad you did not get to do the other tests - they were not as hard as test 3

Well Foul Plugs had two hill climbs last year but they had run ups vs Parry Sound - its tough to go fast but definitely not impossible.

Good video of FP by Hoods https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jr8aG_EauvQ

A&A Racing got 3rd and 4th at FP so I will hold your beer when you go collect your trophy!

Oh OCMC has a race on the 11th https://ocmc-racing.ca/events.html - its run by Justin Lewis so its a fun event and cheap just no parking...

Yes, I heard that #2 was a great run and #1 was fun too. I was impressed with #3, despite the problem. Great course layouts for sure.

Fantastic video - thanks for the link, and the intel on other matters.

Cheers.
